Financial assistance to one or more scholars annually for summer environmental studies selected by the applicants. Applicants must be residents of New Jersey or nonresidents of New Jersey pursuing study in the state or its surrounding waters.
Environmental Studies
The purpose of the scholarship is to promote environmental studies by students who are residents of New Jersey or nonresidents studying in New Jersey or its surrounding waters.
In 2003, Frances Starr Todd determined that a fitting tribute to her great grandmother, Caroline Thorn Kissel, would be a GCA scholarship dedicated to environmental study relating to Mrs. Kissel’s beloved State of New Jersey. The award provides financial assistance to one scholar annually for summer environmental study selected by the applicant.
US Citizen or pemanent resident
New Jersey
Open to college students, graduate students, Ph.D. candidates, or non-degree-seeking applicants above the high school level. Applicants must be either:
a) residents of New Jersey studying in New Jersey or elsewhere, or
b) nonresidents of New Jersey pursuing study in the state or its surrounding waters. Eligibility is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in a U.S. - based institution.
