Description: 

Each year, the Gulf Coast Region awards scholarships of $2,000 each to selected students who are dependents of GCR members. Dependents of officers and principals (owners, partners, etc.) are not eligible. Each applicant must be scholastically qualified for acceptance at an accredited educational institution designed to meet the requirements for an academic, professional, or occupational degree. Each applicant also must need financial aid to attend the school. Each GCR scholarship is good for a full academic year; no part-time semesters are accepted. The long-running GCR scholarship program operates under the auspices of the Recycling Research and Education Foundation’s William A. Bushman Memorial Scholarship Fund. Applicants must be a dependent of an employee, in good standing, of the Gulf Coast Chapter of ISRI. The member firm must be a member of the Gulf Coast chapter. The employee must have been employed by the current ISRI member company for at least one year.

Applicants must intend to pursue studies at an accredited educational institution designed to meet the requirements for an academic, professional, or occupational degree conferred by a college, university, technical school, or other accredited school as listed by the U.S. Department of Education at: http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx. Applicants must be accepted to the educational institution.
