Dolphin Scholarship Foundation grants are available, on a competitive basis, to high school or college children and spouses of members or former members of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force, or those who have served in submarine support activities.
The USS COLORADO (SSN-788) SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to current or former crew members of USS COLORADO (SSN-788); or the spouse, child of a current or former crew member of USS COLORADO (SSN-788) who has served onboard for a minimum of two years.
The USS DELAWARE (SSN-791) SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to current or former crew members of USS DELAWARE (SSN-791); or the spouse, child of a current or former crew member of USS DELAWARE (SSN-791) who has served onboard for a minimum of six months.
The USS HAMPTON (SSN-767) SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to current or former crew members of USS HAMPTON (SSN-767); or the spouse, child of a current or former crew member of USS HAMPTON (SSN-767) who has served onboard for a minimum of two years.
The USS INDIANA (SSN-789) SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to current or former crew members of USS INDIANA (SSN-789), or the DOD recognized spouse or child of a current or former crew member of USS INDIANA (SSN-789) who has served onboard for a minimum of six months.
The LAURA W. BUSH SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to children of current or former crew members of USS TEXAS (SSN-775) who either were a plank owner or has served onboard for a minimum of two years.
The USS OREGON (SSN-793) SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to current or former crew members of USS OREGON (SSN-793); or the spouse, child of a current or former crew member of USS OREGON (SSN-793) who has served onboard for a minimum of 6 months.
The USS WASHINGTON (SSN-787) SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to current or former crew members of USS WASHINGTON (SSN-787); or the spouse, child of a current or former crew member of USS WASHINGTON (SSN-787) who has served onboard for a minimum of two years.
The USS MONTANA (SSN-794) SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to current or former crew members of USS MONTANA (SSN-794); or the spouse, child of a current or former crew member of USS MONTANA (SSN-794) who has served onboard for a minimum of 6 months.
The USS BOWFIN Memorial Scholarship: is awarded to current or former qualified submariners (or their DOD recognized spouse and children) with a minimum of 6 years of active submarine service or 8 years of submarine support service. A minimum of 2 years of submarine or submarine support service shall have been while permanently assigned to a command based in Hawaii.

Dependent Children Scholarships
- Be a dependent of a current or former qualified member of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force whom has served a minimum of six years on active duty, or served eight years on active duty in submarine support activities.
- Be a high school senior or be currently enrolled as a student in a college or an accredited vocational or technical institute.
- Be unmarried and under the age of 24 at the time of the application deadline, March 15.
- Intend to or be enrolled as a full-time student working toward their first Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at a two or four year accredited university or college, or be working toward a vocational/technical certification at an accredited institute.
- Scholars attending any Military Service Academy are NOT eligible for the Dolphin Scholarship. (ie. United States Naval Academy, Westpoint, or United States Coast Guard Academy).
Dependent Spouse Scholarships
- Be the dependent spouse of a qualified member or former member of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force whom has served a minimum of six years on active duty, or served eight years on active duty in submarine support activities.
- Intend to or be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student with a minimum of 12 credit hours per year in order to receive their first Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at a two or four year accredited university, or college or be working toward a vocational/technical certification at an accredited institute.
