The Theodore Gordon Flyfishers Founders Fund (Founders Fund) will award up to two academic merit scholarships of $5,000 each to an exceptional student in an environmental sciences program of studies such as cold-water fisheries management, environmental law, and policy, fishery conservation, aquatic biology, natural resource management, and hydrology. — Students who will be entering their first or second year of graduate school or law school as of
Fall 2025, who will be enrolled and who will continue to be enrolled during the award year
(2025–2026 academic year) in a full-time graduate degree program.
— Students who demonstrate interest and/or experience in the preservation and renewal of
the cold-water fisheries of the Northeast or are pursuing a career working in environmental
conservation in the region.
— The eligible applicant’s major shall be in an area of environmental studies such as ecology,
ecology, hydrology, conservation biology, fisheries, natural resource management, hydrology,
conservation biology, fisheries, natural resource management, zoology, environmental studies,
environmental science, environmental law, or environmental policy.
— Based on a 4.0 scale, the applicant shall demonstrate merit with a current 3.5 GPA in the
environmental concentration courses and an overall minimum 3.0 GPA.
U.S. citizen.
•Student entering 1st or 2nd year of graduate or law school as of Fall 2024
•Enrolled in a full-time program during the entire award year (2024-2025) at auniversity or college.
•Based on a 4.0 scale, have a current 3.5 GPA in environmental concentrationcourses and an overall minimum 3.0 GPA.
